A little help for our friends at the Ruben Centre in Nairobi

Last night I spent a delightful couple of hours with Frank O’Shea, the Director at the Ruben Centre in Nairobi, Kenya and the committee and sponsors of the 500 Supporters Group.

The Ruben Centre is, among other things, a school for 1900 children and a clinic servicing almost 90,000 cases a year to the Ruben Slum. The Ruben Slum is home to 600,000 of some of the poorest people on the planet. Housed in tiny shacks of corrugated iron, these impoverished people would have no access to education or health services were it not for the outstanding work done by Frank and his committed team at Ruben.

We here at Jubbly are proud to be associated with the 500 Supporters Group, a charitable organisation whose sole beneficiary is The Ruben Centre.

We heard recently that Frank’s aging MacBook (which he uses to run the centre) was about to shuffle off this mortal coil, so we were delighted to be able to help out in, as 500 Supporters Group chairman Patrick O’Brien put it, a tangible way, by supplying him with a new MacBook Pro and some other technical goodies.

Please support the Ruben Centre.
